The handheld gaming space might be dominated by Nintendo's Switch right now, but there are more than a few super-powerful alternatives entering the scene, promising PC-level specs and amazing features.

We've already seen the Steam Deck and Aya Neo Air, and now it's the turn of peripheral maker Logitech G, which has already announced that it is teaming up with Chinese giant Tencent to create a new handheld.

New shots of this handheld made it online thanks to prolific leaker Evan Blass, but they were swiftly removed by the copyright holder – not before other sites, like Retro Dodo, spotted them.

The system has a focus on cloud gaming and will support Google Play Store, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam and Google Chrome, at least according to the leaked images. It will most likely be running an Android-based OS.

Speaking about the hardware earlier this month, Daniel Wu, the general manager of Tencent Games Smart Solution Innovation Lab, had this to say:

Logitech G’s leadership in PC and console gaming gear make them an ideal partner to help us realize the vision of bringing a better gaming experience to gamers around the globe. Today marks the start of a new opportunity for our companies to further push the frontiers of gaming devices.

Ujesh Desai, general manager of Logitech G, added:

As one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing and operations, Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation and it’s why we partnered with them. As someone that grew up playing video games, the idea of being able to stream and play AAA games almost anywhere is super exciting, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.

While this new handheld clearly has a focus on cloud-based gaming, if it's running Android, then it will have access to a wide range of emulation options via the Google Play Store, which could make it one to watch out for if you're after a power retro gaming portable.
